Question 1 HZ engine parts or block

Hi friends,

I am new on this forum and would like to introduce myself and bother you with some questions. I am German, living in southern Mexico. Recently I bought a HZJ 80, mod 95,with the 1HZ engine. The engine won´t start, probably the timing belt jumped. Not sur if this is an interference engine, does anybody know for sure?
this engine was never sold ofically in Mexico or the U.S.,so i have a really hard time to get spare parts. Is there anybody who can tell me how/where to get spare parts or a complete engine. Thank you very much, I really appreciate any information and help. Greetings Jürgen.

I would post this in the diesel forum as well. 99% of us here have gas engines in our 80 series trucks.

It is definitely an interference engine. Quite a few parts can be source in NA. 70 series in Canada had 1HZs. Check for part #s on toyodiy.com and run the numbers at a Toyota dealer.

There is a 1HZ/HD-T/PZ manual online you can download and verify or set your timing belt correctly. Easy to check before possibly destroying the engine.
