Metal Tech Tube Bumpers/Sliders group buy for Surf n Turf

I am looking at getting a metal tech tube bumper and contacted the guys at Metal Tech to see about a group buy to be delivered to my house for Surf n Turf this year. I live 4 miles from the Surf n Turf site so thought this would be an easy way to save some cash. While they will not be able to attend this year, they are willing to give a 10% discount on 3 or more bumpers or slider sets and 20% if we can get 10 or more pieces ordered. This will also save on shipping when all shipped together. Anyone interested? I could deliver to the beach or you could pick up at my place. You could even install them at my place as I have a very large driveway. (you might want to bring tools if so, mine are all over the place) You would have to prepay and I was thinking to have them delivered the Wed. before SnT so that people could pick them up before the event if they wanted. Lemme know if you are interested. Maybe we could increase the discount if we got more to order? If anyone has any issues while there you are welcome to work on your rigs at my place too. We are one block off the main road from the freeway to the beach.

EDIT: The conditions of this thread have changed a ton. Please read all the way through. Basically you don't have to have anything to do with SnT to get in the group buy. Looks like we are going to make the 20% now. If you buy, please post. have until Friday the 30th to get in on this. If you have questions you can call me at 805-471-4071

Mike

The bumper is one of the nicest things I have purchased for the cruiser. It is a must have for anyone considering something else to what's out there for lightweight, perfectly crafted front protection and winch ready.

thanks Bikeman I assume that you linke the 80 series bumper but I am guessing that nick is looking for a 40 bumper? Yes they really need to finish their website, but their tube front for the 80 is the nicest option out there in my opinion. I personally am not interested in the weight or bulk of an ARB (yes I realize teh benefit of that mass, just not my gig). Price is $650 raw (non powdercoated) PRE discount. I emailed them today to see what the painted cost is and to see if there could be a better discount if we got 5-10 orders. I will update when I know more.

That's a NICE looking bumper. By far the best looking I've seen. Now if only this was available when I was in the market.

So I have been told that if we can get an order of 10+ than we will get a 20% discount. That is pretty darn good. Painting is $120 for a single bumper which is the minimum fee for firing up the oven. If we paint multiple pieces at once, the price of firing the oven would be divided by the number of bumpers plus the paint cost. This would be a significant savings. Trying to get a rough estimate on shipping, but if we put it all on a pallet and split it 10 ways...That is an awesome bumper at an unbeatable price. Anybody interested? Feel free to spread this thread around. Remember that sliders and parts for 40's and 100's count as well. Tell your buddies.

$899.95 is the normal cost according to the website. Shipping depending on where you are is at least $100. So take off $90 and split the shipping three ways for the minimum order or take off $180 and split it 10 ways (but shipping would be higher) if we can get an order of 10! No cheaper way to get this equipment.

ARB is nice, but I want to look a little different than most of the fixed up cruisers out there and these weight quite a bit less as well. And you are right, this is a very hard price to beat.

i had a ARB non-winch before then switch to the MetalTech bumper. No regrets! I think it looks better and it's lighter! The quality is top notch and seems very sturdy. I was in between the Slee and MT and choose the MT.

If the price is right I would be willing to buy a set of Sliders for my 80. Is black the only color they do for the powder coat?

What year is your 80? We need to start telling them what will be in the order asap. The owners(s) are in Bolivia for a few days doing a 48 hour fj40 build for a tv show. According to the guy in the shop last week they currently have one bumper, one set of 95+ sliders and 3 sets of 91-94 sliders ready to go. (the difference for the sliders is the cat configuration.) They have the materials ready to go for more bumpers and could squeeze out a few more sets of sliders if necessary. For color, I assume that black is stocki, but we could probably get other colors done.

SO...PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE IN ON THIS BUY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

the order will be shipped around the 2nd of Nov. and should arrive at my house in Arroyo Grande, which is next door to Pismo Beach, on the 5th of Nov. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE ORDER PLACED BY THIS FRIDAY, OCT. 23.

If you have questions that I can answer please call me at 805-471-4071. Like others have said, these guys make great products and this is a price that simply can't be beat once you look at the deep discount that we will receive on shipping. I have nothing to do with MetalTech, I just am looking for a way to get a sweet bumper as cheap as possible

FYI- Metaltech's website doesn't have any products listed, so unless there is a pricelist and product description, it might be tough to get people to sign on to a group buy.

I actually put a link to their slider page with prices above and listed the price for the bumper in the thread. Is there something else that you were looking for? I have no control over their website.

if everybody that was interested got in on it I think that we would be at the 10...however most are still kicking the tires. I am in no matter what. 10% and a big shipping discount is enough to get the go ahead from the wife. We need to know by THIS FRIDAY who is in our out. if you are only in for 20% let us know...if you are in no matter what, let us know. Lets take advantage of this great opportunity.

I am in for the 20% but less than that and I can get some custom built locally.

I have to pay the guy that is going to pick them up for me if I do it so I am looking at the total cost.

Anybody in or out for sure at this point? At least a couple are out based as of today. I would really like to get this bumper for a combined discount of at least $150. I'm gonna buy it regardless, anyone else in?
