Most popular aftermarket headlamps
Since I am not finding any great deals on used LX450 lamps, what is the mud opinoin on the aftermarket units?
DEPO?
there are at least a dozen different options on ebay at any given moment.
What say mud?

I searched about for this before I upgraded the bulbs in my stock lights. DEPO seems to be the consensus for aftermarket around here (on ebay mostly).

the depos are probably the best non oem as far as fitment and quality. IMO the depos throw out much more light than the oem ones.

Brett...
Unless I am mistaken the 80 series lamps, and any aftermarket ones, are not a direct fit replacement for the LX450...
My PS lamp has a crack in it that has been there since purchase and like you I have not had any luck finding a replacement. Looked into using an 80 series and it would not fit without modification. The grill on the 80s and the LXs are different. I think at one time I posted up a pic and you'd think I could remember since I own both, but one angles in around and the other angles out.
Maybe you've accepted the fact that you will need to modify the grill of the lamps?

Depot makes only LC replacement lamps???
I am confused, So if the depot replacements only fit the LC why would you want to buy them and rid of factory lights that are good?

I have only the PS headlamp. My DS headlamp is crushed. (from the fancy tree mod)
Mine is not a DD anymore. I dont care if i sport an LC grill or LX grill... so DEPO might be ok for me.

Side track, I didn't think the old grill and new grills were interchangeable. If they are, I'm highly interested in how. I would love to ditch the lexus badging and get the old "TOYOTA" grill.

Those cheap "projecter-like" ebay headlights are junk. I have a couple of sets here. Poor light pattern, and substandard mounting approach (IMHO).

I have not tried the Depo 80 series lights but have used them on many other makes/models with 100% satisfaction.

Thank you sir, but the bidding is done.... And the "buy now" opt is gone.... These have been off the market for sometime, and are highly sought after for the guys who want to run HID set ups...

Check the other thread on the DEPO's...
Supposedly they've had one too many of us complaining about their quality issues and now at least one e-bay seller "ap1ap2"? has sent all of them back to the manufacturer to rectify the problem.
I've said this on another thread, but when I had a pair I saw some minor flaking of the chrome from the reflector which did not seem to cause any performance issues. That is not to say that it was or was not going to flake quickly, etc...

I hate to hijack a thread but I have to. Does anybody know what happened to the 'halo' bling projector lights that were one piece with the corner lights? There used to be lots of them on ebay and the price was getting lower (close to $100). Suddenly there were only cheap HID conversions available together with those lamps (for a lot more $$) and sometimes there's just nothing. I'm talking about the lamps from my signature.
I really like them and would like to have a spare. Maybe someone has them for sale really cheap?
