FJ Cruiser Radio Install??
I have tried searching, but cant seem to narrow down the right keywords. I picked up an FJ radio from a co-worker to swap into my FJ80. Wanting to know how the PINs and Harnesses will work together (or wont) before I connect this radio up. The radio is the same radio out of the 4Runners, RAV4, and maybe a few other models. Also wondering if someone has access to the Toyota Parts System to see if there is an AUX-IN connection or an Ipod connection. I know the AUX is available, I have used it on the RAV4 and 4Runners at work. Want to know the part numbers and price if possible.
Thanks for the help guys, and again, I tried searching.

A local stereo store should have a metra connector that goes into the back of the new radio with labeled wires for about $15 so you can hook it up.

Ended up connecting the radio just now. The FJ radio has 4 plugs (I dont have the XM one). The two closest to the driver side work perfectly. I get the proper sound to the right channels, lights dim, everything. Now I need to read up on the amp bypass, but I do have some questions. There is a second plug in the back smaller than the AM/FM annt located right above the annt connection. Is this the AUX? Also, unless I have the dimmer on full or off, the radio whines. Any ideas?
Off to read on the amp bypass now.

1. the ant connection is probably a diversity antenna connection.
2. The whining usually means you are using the dimmer wire as a ground.

Whinning noise stopped after i disconnected the factory amp. Now to find the AUX hookup and figure out where to place it. This radio is a rather nice radio. I used to not hear by rear left channel, now I can (bad amp i guess) and the quality is an improvement from the factory unit. Im still using factory speakers, thats not as high priority. But now I can use my MP3 CDs and newer CDs without having any issues until I get the AUX hookup. Nothing out of the "sub" though, dang.

Don't worry, that pathetic sub never gave much.

Any ideas on the AUX/iPod input?
I will post some pics up Monday evening. Hitting the hay for work in the morning. It sounds great! I was impressed that simply replacing the head unit would make those 18 year old speakers sound much better. But not good enough as they will get swapped out soon with ones that can make some resemblance to bass.
UPDATE PICS
Also heard from the dealer that the iPod connection was 200+ and the AUX only was over 100. I knew it would be high, but come on! Looks like I am hunting for a used one on ebay motors or something.
As you can see in the pics, basically a straight replacement. Minus some massaging needed. The original unit doesnt have much of a face plate lip, this unit does. The body of the unit is the same size, lad longer I think. Dont have those pics. But the knobs are a little tight on the edges, fully turnable, just tight on finger room at some spot of the turn. Not something that bugs me. The only thing that bugs me is I have to pull the dash off again to make it fit flush up against the environmental controls. It rubs on the face plate lip of the HU.
