Still havent had time to put much more work into the truck. Life has been very busy the last couple weeks. I'll get some free time next week to install some of the new goodies that have been sitting in unopened boxes in the garage.

For anyone wanting the OME medium lift kits and worried about the difficulty of installation. Just did the install on mine last night and it took a total of 3.5 hours. Very easy to do, just make sure you have a nice jack that can get up to around 21" high at least.
Also, I did NOT need the caster correction bushings on my truck. It actually drives a lot better than before even at highway speeds. The steering is a lot more predictable and the "squishy" feeling is gone every time I hit a bump. Overall I'm extremely happy with the kit. I went with 860/851 springs and N37/N47 shocks.
So now I need some 35" tires and I'll be all set for a while.

Your caster was probably on the high end of stock. If you're sitting at 0* or higher, then I think it's just fine. It's when you get into negative caster that you really start to notice it.

You're probably right. I was doing a lot of this at highway speeds before. Now the steering is a lot better and more precise. I noticed my tie rod ends are worn pretty bad while I was under the truck, those are next, then 35's and an alignment. I'm curious what the caster is at now since it drives fairly well.

Picked up a used set of 315/75/16's and got them put on today. They fit much better. Definitely need some spacers or different offset wheels to get the stance to look better. But getting there little by little:

if you think it drives nice now you should throw in the 3* bushings it needs. Not really the place to cheap out on since it directly effects the handling of the vehicle especially in avoidance manuevures.

You are definitely right. With the factory sized tires it was really solid. Now with the larger tires the need for caster correction is very apparent. I'll need to get a set ordered up in the next few weeks.

I would also look at the plates (slee or landtanks), as well as other options...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a look at all of those and see what fits the bill.

Also, if you widen the stance via spacers or new rims, you may rip off fender flares (willingly or not so much).

Good point. More reason to get spacers then so that I can remove them when wheeling. I'm just a sucker for good looks sometimes, even if it's not functional

went to lunch and took a couple more cellphone pictures. I have to say, 35's are a perfect size for the truck. I'm very glad I didn't go smaller. Thanks for the help on the decision Ebag.
It even fit in the parking garage. Got lucky though, we have fairly high garage ceilings here. It barely clears though. I have maybe only 2 inches in some places in the garage. I might have to remove the roofrack to get it to fit in the garage at home though, doubt it'll clear with it on there.

New center caps, courtesy of a seller from Hong Kong off eBay. Cheap, but fit very well.

Changed the belts, much easier than I expected. Took 20-30 minutes tops. The truck quieted down a bit. The AC idler pulley has seen better days, need to order a new one. Noticed the power steering pump has got a nice loud whine going too, need to address that later this year. Did some preliminary measuring for turbo/manifold fitment, still a few months away on that

How much was the lift form metal tech to your door? I'm about to buy one but from a different dealer and I want to make sure I've found the lowest price.
Also, If you need any seat parts, let me know. I have an extra driver's seat with all working motors and switches I can let go for cheap.

It came out to about $700 including shipping for the OME medium lift springs, new OME shocks, and new OME steering stabilizer. Would be less if you didn't want all the components. Give Metal Tech a call and chat with Mark if he's around. Really helpful guy, I'm sure he can hook you up with the lowest price around.
I need the drivers side switch assembly in gray if you have it, my recline button/switch is broken.
