Ok, let me ramble about an idea.

Im thinking about attempting an integrated slider/skid type deal.......

I would start with the prerequisite U shaped, 2 bolts over the top of the frame mounts. 3-4/side. From these mounts I would continue with the standard gusseted slider outriggers and rectangular main slider tube that would sit under the rocker panel. The main slider tube would get some sort of kickout treatment using round tube. This tube would be angled "up" and out and would flare out towards the rear tire. If youre having trouble deciphering my gibberish, its all standard slider fare so far.

This is where it would get interesting.... If I can explain it properly...

Picture a cross section of both 80 frame rails with one of these "U" bracket mounts wrapped around each of them. The outriggers for the sliders would be extending out from each side right? What if I were to try to run 2 "cross members" between the inside edges of the U brackets, effectively joining both sliders together and providing attachment points for some oil pan/trans/xfer skid plates. [=] kinda like that there bracket thing, the cross members being the = and the sliders being [].

Did that make any sense at all?

Basically a slider/skid belly pan type deal that would be taken on/off as one big unit.......

I may try to sketch it out later so this post can make more sense.

On another note, Im on the hunt for new control arm bushings front and rear. Planning on oe toyota rubbers and I may have found a source locally that imports LC parts from Holland. I wheel with a dude who works there to boot so Im gonna see what kind of price I can get before ordering from somewhere else. Ive heard 30 bucks/bushing and since Im looking to replace them all (8 in the rear, 6 in the front) that could get expensive.

This outfit stocks cruiser parts for the local mining industry so they get everything from axles to engines. Mostly 70 series stuff but Im told they can order any LC part. Wish me luck.
