door lock sticking question
When i lock the doors via either driver or passanger side lock switch, the drivers lock is stuck. It twitches a little bit like it wants too but just not enough. Ive got the door panel off and using fsm my next step was to test the door lock motor, questions:
is that the right thing to check, if so where is it in the door?

I don't have a pic of the driver's door with panel off, but here is a shot of the ps.
Picture a mirror image and you are looking at the ds.
With panel off, I would check all linkage and see if you can spot any binding points.
Make sure all is clean and clear of anything which might cause a bind.
You may opt to ligntly lube with white grease at sliders and elbows.
One thing to check for: the bezel that fits around the lock/unlock lever may sometimes bind the lever if it is not seated properly. Check that point and carefully adjust the screw mount if needed.
Be careful tightening the bezel screw as it can crack the bezel if overtightened.

yeah im at that point, door panel is off. all links look fine as well as the lock tab itself inside the bezel.
where is the locker motor itself?

I did the lubing of the mechanism and also lubed the actuator internally on my rear doors.
I ended up having to replace them. The motors that drive the locks are little DC ones and they have a definite life expectancy as they wear out internally. The rear actuators are not too expensive from Dan - but the fronts are scary expensive as it's all one integrated unit rather than a separate actuator like the rears.
I'm going to try disassembling the front mechanism to see if the motors are the same as for the rear actuators. If they are i'll just pick up 2 more rear actuators and transplant the motors.

I found the motor, you have to remove the door lock relay box and the plud is there. Follow it up and to the outer edge of the door to find the motor itself. Ill post up with up some pics once i have that POS out of there, since the fsm is nice and vague in location.

Please do - I'm interested to see if the motor internally is the same as the rears - that way we can replace the motor by buying rear actuators and transplanting the motor rather than having to pay for the entire front lock assembly.
