Idle problems too, and some strange noise.

Hi, all. I'm new to the forum, and Land Cruisers, and wheeling in general.

I think I'm experiencing the same problems as some of you had. I recently bought an 91' HDJ81 a little over a month ago. A friend of mine that owns a diesel Hilux commented that my idle was a little high 900-950 RPMs at idle, but wasn't too big of a deal yet. Well about 2 weeks ago I was messing around with the turbo timer, and swithced it from it's usual setting. A few days later the RPMs went up to 1000-1050 RPMs at idle, and I notice that my turbo timer was showing my exhaust temp wasn't cooling down, and was adding more time to the timer. In the last couple of days, I've noticed it has been blowing more smoke than usual, since I've owned it, even after it's warmed up. I kind of just realized another thing too. When I first got my LC, it kind of bogged down on certain hills, because of the 37's, but lately it hasn't done that??? Well, today I thought I would try to see if I could adjust the throttle linkages to bring my idle down a bit. I didn't change anything, since any adjustment there was, had to go back to where it was, so the joints lined up. Tonight I was driving home, and mucked around with the turbo timmer settings, with the truck running. While on the way home the idle went up to 1200-1350 RPM's at idle, and it was enough to keep the A/T engaged. So when it came to stopping, it wanted to keep going. I also notice a lack of throttle response too. The revs didn't rise and fall like normal. I thought if I throttled it a few times, it might unstick itself, or something. There were times when the idle droped a bit, so as not to keep the turbo from spooling up, but when I had to get on the pedal it would stick around the 1300 RPM range. When I got it home, I popped the linkage off, so I could bring the idle back down to 950 RPMs, to cool down, which it did, but now I'm kind of stuck with a stuck throttle, when I put that linkage back in place. From what I've been reading it could be the ACSD? I don't remember hearing any ticking from the pump?

I also notice when I'm travelling around 70km/hr or more and let off the throttle, I can hear this sound from underneath the truck. Kind of like someone pouring high aggregate concrete down the slide, or someone sucking the bottom of a milkshake through a straw? Is it just the exhaust making the noise from the turbo?

Thanks.
