| Power Steering Capacity... Leak My power steering gear box is leaking where the steering shaft from the steering wheel goes into the gear box.
As rusted as the 80 is, I am not sure if the bolts will come out or snap off so I am going to add some TransX transmission fluid to see if it will stop the leak. It worked on the Camry but I didn't know where the leak was on the Camry.
I also have some Lucas Power Steering additive that is to stop leaks but not sure if it is compatible with ATF???
With the TransX I need a 1:10 ratio but don't know the capacity of the power steering system, how much is it?

| 0.9 US quarts in a 97LC. I imagine yours is about the same.

| Mine leaks in the same place. I am (still) using PS fluid, so I added some Wynn's PS stop-leak, but it didn't really slow the loss by much.
Unfortunately the box is very expensive to replace ($3000+!!!), and even the rebuild kit lists at over $250.
I sourced a used box - just need the time to put it on.

| Same leak here. I'm not gonna worry about it till it starts spewing fluid.
