do you have a product link to what you exactly bought? This is JUST the way I want my cruiser to look!

Can you report back in about a year to let us know how it's holding up?

I used the same product. I bought the tintable kind and tinted it with factory dark emerald green paint. It was very easy to apply and I do like the looks of it. I will be doing my flares on my new to me 96 Cruiser this summer when the weather gets warmer.

I assume you got the tintable version. If so, was it white prior to adding tint?

This spray job is nice! I think this stuff is cool because you can mix the hardner in and make it softer or harder. Cory did a great job! I was skeptical, but like it alot!

Hey grunt, please explain the tintable to me, what paint do you mix it with? Cory (CJ80) is gonna help me with the 96, doing the fenders and the line down the middle, but i want it to be dark gray and the manufacturer was not going to give me directions.

The tintable version comes a very light gray. You have to make sure it is advertised as tintable. I added factory paint to it, as per the instructions, to come up with a color. One thing I did learn, because the liner is gray, when mixed with whatever color of paint, it will make the overall product lighter than the straight paint. I used factory 97 40th dark green and you can see how much lighter the liner turned out.

I was also very anal about how much tint (paint) I added to each bottle. I used a very accurate digital electronic scale to ensure I put the same amount of paint in each bottle to ensure that each bottle came out the same color. If you want to go dark gray you will probably want the paint (tint) to be a darker color than you would think, maybe even black. The gray of the liner is really going to lighten it up.

I like it!

I got a chance to see this 80 last weekend and I must say the Raptor stuff looks great on it. I put Herculiner on my 80 about a month ago and I was impressed with it, but comparing it to the Raptor, I wish I knew about the Raptor stuff before. The finish with the Raptor stuff was a lot smoother than the Herculiner. The major camparison I will make is how they both look a year or two from now after being in the sun and on the trail. Overall I would recommend it. Good job Cory!!!

So how much did it take, By that I mean did you do this with only one kit?

-Juan

1 kit comes with:

1 spray gun
1 bottle of hardener
4 1(liter) bottles of product

I bought 2 kits and ended up using 5 1(liter) bottles of product. I would have used all 8 but it started getting dark on me. Was there a difference between 4 and 5? Not really. You could get away with 4 and spray what I did. It is plenty thick and if I do knock some off I'll just spray more on so I don't see a need to go thicker anyway.

I put the recommended amount of hardner in per ebay instructions, maybe a little less by mistake but it feels tough as nails.

It looks great, I may have to get some!

That looks good, we need to go wheeling sometime.

How I miss the C-zone parking pass.
