So here is the situation.....
The Good: '92 FJ80 in very clean condition, no dents, interior in really good shape.... 212K .... I can get it for $1500 The Bad: Runs rough... #5 cyl is ~80 rest ~133 avg. A bit of oil from exhaust.... slight oil leak between eng & tranny The Ugly: I would only have about $1500 to throw at the rig until spring... I would r/b the engine myself.... or just buy a used and swap it...if needed... So I ask... Deal or No Deal??? Going to drive it today with the .

80's are selling at an all time low right now. It seems like you should be able to find a similar condition 93+ for not much more than your total maint/purchase budget. I'd go that route if possible to avoid the 3FE, but then again, there are plenty of people on here that enjoy the 3FE.
If you do the work yourself, 1500 isn't bad for an 80. Do a search for "cheapest 80 ever" that was one heck of a deal. __________________ 97LX450, 141K, 285CooperSST's, OME851/860's, S/C, CDL 7-Pin, Landtank MAF, Slee SS lines, 100 pads, silicone PHH, Raventai temp, CDan parts throughout($5K+).
