Blue, Green, Or Bronze?

head just broke into my truck!! Broke the front passenger glass. Does anybody know what the tint or color of glass is? Toyota guy says green. Aftermarket says blue. Back windows are brown/bronze factory. Cant tell if front driver side is blue or green. 97 40th green

Toyota is green.

Lexus is bronze.

Neither came stock with blue.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the color of the tint on the LX450 changed between 96 and 97. Ebag- maybe you could verify this on your 2 LXs?

On some Lexus products, the glass color depended on either the interior color or the exterior color. Not sure if the LX was included, but be sure you're correctly informed here. On a side note, why not decide yourself by looking at the OTHER front window that's intact?? Use a white piece of paper and ask a couple friends/wife, etc.

You are correct, there were two window tints on the LX depending on the exterior color. Mine happens to be the best color of all LXs and LCs put together and it has the bronze tint

So is mine, Cashmere Beige Metallic with bronze tint. But the ? is, since you were buying new, off the lot, did you buy your LX450 because it had the bronze tint, or the body color?

I made my choice from 2 off the Lexus lot because a deposit had been placed on the lower mileage 96 while I was in route to the dealership.

I asked for a bronze replacement windshield, but got the Toyota blue (?) and now can only drive it at night to hide my shame.

Well i had to make a choice so for now its blue.

Only because Toyota is two days out for parts and also 180-200$$ something like that. Its kind of hard to tell though if drivers side is green or not. All aftermarket could only get blue. Thanks for the help.

I don't believe so. Both my LX's are virtually identical however.

Pre mod's I would often walk to the wrong one and wonder why my key wouldn't work.

I haven't seen an LX with anything but the bronze color, but there's not many running around my parts. I've also only seen 80's with green, there's a fair amount of those (except for one I've seen with all clear, but those aren't factory windows).

My black LX looks like it has bronze tint.

Don't worry, since you are giving me your LX in exchange to ride on the dash in a custom urn after you go up in smoke, I will make sure that I replace the windshield so we can sport around town and on the trails shamelessly listening to that song you requested day or night.
