4+ Receiver Hitch

My towing needs are light. I have jet skiis, a hobie-cat, small jonboat etc...

I would like to get rid of the bolt on frame receiver hitch, is this my best bet?

MAF Receiver Hitch

How worthless is this with a clevis for dragging people who are stuck?

Thanks

Andrew

Hmmm. The description has the tow limit at 2000 lbs...

This receiver type tow hitch is designed to bolt to the existing pre-drilled holes in the rear frame cross brace of most Land Cruisers. 1/2" plate steel mounting flange & gusset. 2" square receiver. Built in chain safety chain loops. Class "2" rating means max 200 lbs tongue weight 2,000 lbs total towed weight, comes with mounting bolts. Also available as a kit with ball mount, pin and retaining clip. Painted black.

Yeah, I understand all that. I tow big, big boats cross country all the time. I'm unclear about how it will handle dragging an idiot out of the ditch here and there. 200lbs is no where near enough, but there are other clevis attachments I've seen that bold in the 4 holes that are really heavy, I do not recall if they claimed any lb ratings or not, and can't find the links right now.. For that matter, how much abuse can a bolt on class 3 hitch take while yanking people out of a ditch?

I intend to keep this car on the road more than off, so don't want to go too extreme with recovery options, but I'd like to be able help out if I can..

I expect my most extreme trip will be surf fishing on the PINS.
My towing needs will easily fall into the class 2 range..

Thanks

Andrew

slee sells a bolt on that is nice. it is a L-shape and can also be bolted from underneath for more support. it is not rated but very similar to the 4+
