Resale of Bed-Lined 80?
I know this question sounds ridiculous, and with the current value of the 80's resale should not be much of a concern, but I notice many people, at least on this forum like the look of a bed lined truck (and I am sure it sickens some as well). I am planning on bed-lining my truck, and I know it will affect resale adversely on, say ebay or the local paper, but how does that kind of mod affect resale on this web site?
Also as an aside, how many like the look of a fully bed lined 80? |

If you plan on making it a trail dedicated rig, then I'm sure the buyer would like the bedliner for ease of cleaning. If you are leaving the rig mainly stock, then I could see a lot of people wanting the carpet. I would imagine having the carpet removed will also increase road noise as well.

Sorry for any confusion, I am speaking about the body of the truck. I figured it would completely destroy resale, but I was wondering if on off-road oriented web sites like this it may not be to much of a detriment.

If you're talking about bedlining the outside I think it looks awesome. I would have to believe that most who have done it probably don't plan on parting with their rig and didn't factor in resale value. I'm gonna do mine eventually, resale is not a factor since I'm the last owner anyway. Just go for it!

I wouldn't think the the exterior would be much of a problem as long as the job is high quality, there is an 80 on ebay right now that has the flares removed and bedlined. Personally I like the fender flares. I suppose way down the road I might remove the flares and bedline if I tear them off on a trail. I plan on being the last owner of my 80 as well. However, would have to remove the pink panty body cladding also. Right now I like the cladding because it helps save the body from dings and scrapes on the trail and at the mall.

Are you doing this for yourself....or are you doing it w/ the intent of resale???
i dont think it would matter half as much as what else is on the truck and what PM had been done to this crowd.
