Removing passenger grab handle??

The big one on the dash. Has anyone done it and if so how easy / hard is it? I need to look at taking it off to slip a bracket over it. I've got a bracket that I'm going to use to hold up my new 10.4" LCD touchscreen for a GPS system but the bracket won't open up enough to slip over it so I need to slot it over an end. I'm hoping you can get at one end perhaps through the glovebox rather than taking off the whole dash.

We don't get that grab bar on US spec 80s but Mot has sold a bunch of them for retrofit. I will look for the install threads and post back with pics.

After reading Koffer's install thread again, it appears that getting to the nut on the outter side (Left side on your RHD) would be easier but you have to move part of the A/C duct and the glove box and the speaker. Getting to the inner side (Right side on your RHD) is easier but turning the nut and getting it off will be harder. I think you will want to go with the left side on yours but read all the install posts and decide how you want to tackle the job.

Not sure how well these pics will show, but HTH's!

I know there are better pics in those threads.

I'm ready to have another run at it!

That is if Toyota still carries them (They did the last time I checked a few months ago though).

Let me know if I can help!

There were several pics in the 2 threads that I posted. Did you read those threads?

Here is a gray grab bar on the updated dash.
