Yep, that's what did it for me. I've been gathering parts for awhile, and figured I'd pull the trigger on the most expensive bit when I was actually ready to do the install. Then it disappeared from Slee's site and Lumpdog's system fell through So when this came around, I had to jump on it.

Limited offer also allows the poor guy to get better pricing on materials. This way he can buy once instead of several times.

As a side note, I talked to GLWJ this AM and we discussed some changes that I thought would be good and some other additions/news that will be announced soon.

No problem. The pulleys have been started after a slight change was realized. The 1/4" steel has been ordered for the brackets. GLWJ will be making one unit first and installing it on his own truck and then fine tuning and then taking pictures. Much more info to come.

Ask and ye shall receive...eventually. This should make it a LOT easier to visualize. Just goes together like a puzzle and then welded.

Install pics to come as soon as GLWJ finishes the first set up and installs on his own truck.

More coolness to be announced as well once we get closer.

Ha - That waterjet stuff is really cool! Now give at least one dimension and I'll print it up on some cardstock and see what it's going to look like

Nice! I like the dovetail/notched design. It must make it easier for him to assemble and weld. One question though, where does the tensioner fit in?

Thanks Scott.

Ok folks that is an accurate render of the bracket.

Here is the latest and it keeps changing as we keep learning new things:
• The 1/4" sheet is being picked up tomorrow and then one unit till be built and installed on GLWJ's truck to make sure everything is aligned. If the alignment is true then its just a few days to cut out everything for all the kits.
• The pulley has been re-redesigned so that all three pulleys are now 5". This meant stopping the first run and redesigning the pulley and then re-starting machining. The 3rd pulley will be set slightly set apart from the others to align with the stock air conditioning compressor.
• The pulley size was changed to 5" so that it would bump up the revolutions on the York at idle, thus greatly reducing the need to have the truck rev'd higher or have the hand throttle on.
• The new pulley design will NOW be on the same linear alignment with the stock air compressor THUS eliminating the need for another tensioner. The York will instead use the tensioner used on the stock a/c unit.
• There is now no adjustment needed for the York set up, this will eliminate a lot of headaches.
• GLWJ will now be including (12) bolts for the York. This 4 for each side and 4 for the bottom.
• GLWJ will now be including the head bolts needed to mount the bracket to the head.

And last but not least GLWJ will NOW be including the correctly sized belt needed to run the York set up. This means you will now be supplied with EVERYTHING you will need to bolt up this kit: bracket, 12 bracket bolts, 4 head bolts, pulley, belt.

Anyone who has ordered just the bracket, I will be PM'ing you separately because this new set up will be affecting you.

I will also need to change the proposed delivery date in order to account for the new, new redesign

Nice! I'm curious why the bracket wraps all the way around the york? I'd have thought that the bolts from just the engine side would be enough - or engine side & bottom?

Time for me to chime in. I ran the original bracket for quite a while with no problems. After taking the York off and on many times, I finally stripped the 4 bolt holes on the engine side. Maybe it was just my York, maybe not. I'm not taking the chance of that happening again. The York has 12 mounting holes and I decided to use all of them. This new setup will use the tensioner on the A/C. The new belt will replace the old A/C belt. It will route around the crank pulley, the new fan pulley, the A/C pulley and tensioner, and the York. I am trying to source Toyota belts as a replacement. I am moving the York a little closer to the engine too for clearance for a second battery tray. I feel this new set-up is about as bullet proof as possible. Hope this helps explain.

Just to add to that, some Yorks have bolt holes that are already stripped before you get your hands on them. I bought a second York as a back up and mainly because it was only $10

But the one I just got has two stripped threads. The first one I got from APPLETECH had no stripped threads.

Hmm, looks like I have to fix my A/C sooner than I thought. I do like the idea of using an OEM belt though.

My A/C clutch is seized, so I don't really have a choice if I want to use the bracket

Hmm. With this new setup will the drive belt engage enough circumference of the A/C pulley to drive it without slipping/squealing, especially when the A/C kicks on? There should be plenty of belt riding on the York pulley, but I'm not so sure about the A/C. (Going from memory here.) How can we find out if if GLWJ's A/C is broken?

Well it will be going on my truck right after.

Just as a quick test, get the pulleys nice and wet and see if you notice any slippage.

Tom, you're the same guy Ali and I wheeled Golden Spike with in Moab, correct?

I know exactly what Tom is saying as he probably remembers my York squealing the entire time once I got it wet and/or dusty. I used a single belt setup to capture the a/c idler, a/c pulley, water pump pulley, and crank pulley. The advantage of the single belt is that it was easy to tension up, but it squealed like a whore because there really wasn't enough surface contact on the pulleys to turn the compressor once the clutch engaged which caused a lot of noise but minor if any slippage.

I bought GLWJ's last triple groove pulley once I got home from Moab and went to an extra belt running off the water pump pulley to the York. No problems or any noise whatsoever after the change.

Just FYI. Good point Tom.

Hey guys, I'm gonna try this new set-up. If it is not correct, you won't get it. I still have all the original plans. I just feel this is a better system. I will post results before anything is shipped.

You got it - good memory. It was your original setup that I was thinking about when I made my post, but I didn't remember all the details. Was it the fact that the belt on your first setup went around the crank pulley too that reduced the amount of contact on the A/C enough to cause the squealing? Sounds like the GLWJ triple-groove fan pulley solved your problem, and the setup being proposed on this thread includes a pulley like that.

Yeah, my original setup was ala Lumpdog style. It captured the same pulleys as the a/c compressor belt and also the York. I changed to a separate belt once I got home and also used the GLWJ pulley and it works as designed now.

Tell your son 'Great Job' on the Moab videos. Once I saw them I felt the same pucker factor like I was on Launch Pad again.

Update. Just got 800lbs. of 1/4" plate delivered today. Pulleys should be done at the first of next week. So I should have the first one done real soon for testing. I will update with pics as I go.
