Which fluids to replace before cold weather?

Ok, engine oil and filter without saying.
I've got 132k miles currently bought the 80 with 96k miles on it, and no real records of p/o maintenance but they took it to the dealer for the 60k mile check up. Had a full tune up, and all rubber hose replacement last year, and 4 new brakes/rotors this year. I've replaced the anti freeze last year- the dreaded HG replacement.

My focus is drain/flush refill-
p/s pump oil- no problems currently
brake fluid- "
tranny- was flushed 2 years ago at about 90k miles.

and both pumpkins- have not done the repack yet. Probably next year.

PS I plan to keep this vehicle for ever like everyone else here.

As always, many thanks for any input.

Get some of that low temperature windshield washer fluid. Make sure you have primed it all the way through.

I don't do jack.

Oil/ filter- that's it. Oh- and the anti-freeze thing is a good idea.

Just looking to head the future problems off at the pass... IE, the power steer pump leaks at some point as it did on my 94. You don't think changing the fluid will add life to the pump seals?
Or brake fluid to the brakes?

I'm not saying it won't. All I'm sayin' is that I think it's a waste of $$ to do all fluids on a yearly basis.

FWIW, you and I probobly see similar temps in winter and I haven't changed my radiator fluids in about 4 years, or flushed my brakes in 2 years....

Easiest way is to look at the fluids.

If they're dark and nasty, change them. If they're still relatively clean/clear/colored (as appropriate), don't sweat it.

Oil's cheaper than an engine.
ATF is cheaper than a tranny.
80W-90 is cheaper than a transfer or diffs.
Grease is cheaper than birfs or bearings.
Brake fluid is cheaper than hydraulic cylinders.
Power steering fluid is cheaper than a PS pump.
Coolant is cheaper than an engine or radiator.

That said, I change my oil/filter every 3-5k mi.
Tranny every 30k mi.
PS fluid every 30k mi.
Brake fluid whenever I replace rear pads.
Coolant (I've been pretty lax on this one) every other spring.
Dif/xfer oil every 30k mi.
Birfs every 60k mi, (or when they need it, like when they click going straight under no load).

Ok, I'm flushing the power steering and brake fluid, while replacing the a/c condenser ( thanks Dan) and dryer....
Had the oil changed, was running basic oil, the garage changed the oil to Sunoco synthetic blend 5w 30.
Can I change it back to plain ole oil now? I didn't want them to do this but they took it upon them selves with out asking.

During Summer months, I tend to use more water in the mix (about 75/25), so when Winter rolls by, I'll be flushing again and adding 50/50

I always use alky based washer fluid, so I'm good there...

As for the rest, I just make sure they're all topped up and double up on the warming process...
