3rd Member w/locker

Folks,

I found a front 3rd member with a working locker. What would you say is a good price for it. Anything I should be aware of if I decide to purchased it?

thanks,

You don't give us much information about what you are trying to accomplish but there are differences between the axle housings for the K294 and K292 axles. There won't be any wiring, diff-lock switch, or ECU so you'll have to figure out how to get those working. Not a big deal though.

A good price would be $20. A REALLY good price would be $10.

I thought that I read somewhere that the LX450 came with all of the wiring harnesses even if they didn't have lockers and the switch. Is that just hearsay? I noticed the OP has an LX in his sig line.

Well maybe not. I found these posts:

http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-te...-e-locker.html

http://www.sleeoffroad.com/technical...it_lockers.htm

Seems like an ARB would be better unless you have the tools/skills to DIY.

The LX has most of the wiring; primarily the main wiring harness. It won't have the axle wiring and it won't have the ECU or the switch. We still don't know what he is trying to accomplish and this might be for another vehicle.

Enventually I would like add lockers (to my LX), if i could get this for a good price I figured it would be easier and cheaper than ARBs, and I would not have to monkey around with air, compressor, etc...

cable actuators

I know theres a company that makes cable actuators for the factory locking diffs, but I can't remember who at this time (downey maybe?), probably would be cheaper , and certainly easier than wiring up the factory actuator. If you can get it cheap, I say go for it. I haven't read any of the writeups on retrofitting factory lockers, but I know there are many.

The one person I've heard of who has those had a ton of problems with them.

I wonder if there would be anyway to modify the cable setup for an OX locker to work with a toyota factory locker, that could be an option. Those OX lockers and there associated components seem to be pretty stout, but I don't have any personal experience with them.
