allignment???

i rebuilt my front axle on sat. got all the parts from cdan ( thanks ), got the wife to watch the baby all day and dove in. after i got it all done, ( and before i step 6ed it too much, ) i took it for a quick spin around the block. then drove again on sun, when i noticed the allignment is off. is this normal? or did i screw something up? its pretty noticable that the steering wheel is off. everything else seems smooth and quiet. was planning on getting alligned soon anyway, once i install a lift, which brings me to question 2. i have an ome 2.5 heavy kit, bought the springs used, but my funding was just cut to this project, so its gonna be a while till i can get bumpers. does anyone want to trade staight across for some mediums? i wrote out a thread to this once, but did not see it posted, so sorry if this comes up twice. thanks.

On the 80 there are only two alignment adjustments that can be easily done. First is toe, it can be accurately adjusted with simple tools. Second is drag link adjustment to center the steering wheel, also easy to do. So there is little need for a professional alignment, getting it done once maybe helpful so you know what the caster and camber numbers are. I prefer more toe in than most professionals would set it to, so would redo it anyways.
