PS- I had to take the LX over to a friends to use his Jack stands and forgot the camera, so no photos.

Cool, hope that works. You might want to give it some extra excercise, that might loosen it up.

Could just be there is crap in the actautor and it needs to be taken apart, cleaned and properly sealed.

This still does not answer why the rear lock mechanism was actuated by itself or with the PWR button. There has to be something else wrong with the electrical circuit.

It may not have been actuated by the 'power' button- in fact, the chances are extremely slim that there could have been a short between two power wires on completely different circuits. More likely that the actuator arm was in between its 'locked' and 'unlocked' positions, and happened to move over to hit the sensor switch at the same time as he hit the button, or he happened to notice it just then. Still leaves the question of how it got that way, it might be sticky and not have moved all the way to its 'unlocked' position after he last used the locker. It would be a good idea to open it up.

I for sure am going to disassemble it and try to get to the root of it, because Im almost completely convinced that theres a short somewhere. It locked at the exact time I pushed the button so who knows? I didnt see any exposed wires or anything that would indicate such a thing, but then again I didnt break into the console either. Just another project to help me better understand my baby.
