Question Loose Speedo Cable?

So I am in the process of doing my first Transmission Fluid Exchange and I noticed something amiss. Should my Speedo cable be a bit loose despite the 12mm nut being tight? There is a bit of wiggle where the speedo assembly seats. The tab that bridges the bolt to the assemly is in the proper slot. The seat inside the housing is clean. This just doesn't seem right. Also I could assume this is the origin of the fresh oil in the sourrounding area as there are no other oil leaks. With 60K miles and having been a pavement princess from Tokyo ( my plastic skidplates are unblemished ) I don't think anything's been serviced - yet

Order a new o-ring for where the speedo goes into the t-case housing. Get a new tab and bolt too, if you like. All three parts should only be a few bucks.

Makes sense, can't use a generic O-ring? Not that I'm unnecessarily cheap, just I have a kit of them.

No idea.

OEM one's only a dollar or so, and will definitely stop the leak.

Ditto - just replace the O ring. Call Cdan, but speak with one of the other parts guys as he's on vacation and mention the Mud forum.
