Newb question - Right Front knuckle goop--

What could the cause of this be? how do I fix it? how much will it cost me?

143K mi. just got the truck a few weeks ago. not sure of all the PM previous owner has done.

Just cleaned up the outside, and inside... now I'm starting to look at the more difficult stuff under the hood...

additional newb question -- the plug wires say 1993 on them... is that the year they were produced, or the year of the truck (it is a 1993)?

So far:

I have replaced the antenna and drum with one from the early Camrys (thanks cdan, it works!).
Replaced stock radio with Scion t1807
replaced stock speakers with pioneer (front and rear doors)
replaced PS mirror with black one from a junker
Cleaned (it hadn't been washed or vacuumed in a few years)

Have to:
pull our rear bumper so that I can replace 15 year old spare
plugs, wires, dizzy o-ring replacement
somehow fix front seats (neither move even after replacing the little white cap (thanks Nakman))
find source of oil leaks (i get a drip or two per night-- not sure of the source or kind of fluid, but it's staining the street, and has made it clear it doesn't go in the driveway with a leak)

Thanks in advance!

Larry

Erm, pulling the rear bumper isn't necessary, nor possible... It's part of the frame.

Ahhh,
The lovely goop that inevitably ends up on all our knuckles. It's time for a rebuild. Call C-Dan or buy Marlin's cool kit.

Thanks on the color -- not on the news.

It may be part of the frame, but it's been pushed in 4 inches from an earlier rear end. Body guy said he'll put it on his frame machine to pull it out. He'll try it, and see if he can.
the 'necessity' stems from my inability to lower/replace the spare tire - bumper is pushed to it, and i also cannot get the rod through the hole above the bumper to crank it down. the hole for cranking is pushed to be even with the lower edge of the tailgate.

I have a little bit of dried grease on the knuckle? Besides the extreme, when is a little too much? Or, is a little already too much?
