I have a slow idle problem. I cleaned throttle body and IAC without result. Read all about it here. Still have not fixed it BUT....... VSS broke and CEL came on p0500 code. I checked the VSS and it looked normal..ANYway while CEL light was on the idle problem was no longer a problem idle 625 and perfect. Placed new VSS on removed CEL and slow idle returned... ***n Unplugged VSS and CEL light came on and idle again normal

Any ideas.....

Another though PO put in PIONEER navigation unit?? If that helps

ive had the same problem, idles from 100-300 rpm sometimes, seems to help if I leave the AC on, (not a fix though) Oddly enough the problem went away when I went to wyoming on a 5 day trip and stuck with sinclairs gas. I wondered if wyoming had lower ethanol percentages in its gas. Its possible its fuel related. I'm not a mechanic but my dad is and works on quite a few cruisers sent over by slee off road, so I will post if he/I figure anything else out.

premium shouldnt make any difference, but if you can find an ethanol free gas station around you somehwere then it may be worth checking out. Im getting the cruiser looked at again next week, ill try to figure it out. its always nice having a mechanic in the family, it just takes alot longer to get service
