Headliner re-coloring

I tried out the duplicolor fabric and vinyl paint on my headliner and rear carpet because of some funky stains from prev. owners. I like the color change and the odor from the paint is gone already. It freshens things up and went on light. Duplicolr med gray for those w/ the 96 white/grey leather combo. You can see the color difference on the sun visor and sunroof closure.

I'm re-doing the front leathers next-I started last fall on them w/ Magic Mender dye but the temp was not right and it didn't come out right. Also noticed that some leather cleaners strip the dye off.
Anyone have experience with the Magic Mender and keeping it on? I have seen the Colorbond threads and it looks better but $15/can seems pretty $$$ and the recent post had 9-10 cans used for the fronts.
