ive just found out how to do this myself it took me 3 minutes, there is a small grey box under the drivers seat that controls the anti-theft device. on that box there is a manual reset button and you have to use the master key on ON and then reset the green button. Then the alarm resets itself and unlocks and locks the doors and flashes the parking parking lights. At that moment hit the first button on the FOB after that you should be done:cheers:

a few more fun facts about our alarms, if you leave it unlocked for more than 30 seconds it automatically locks and arms the alarm, also if you hold the first button down then it acts as a "panic" mode

If I lock mine with the Remote and unlock it with the key the alarm goes off. You have to hit the remote or start the truck to shut it off.

I have a new-to-me fob that I got off Ebay. It works fine. I have been using it about 4 months. Every once in a while (now) it will go into panic mode after I disarm (unlock) the truck but before I open the door. Any idea what is going on or if there is a way to perminently(sp) disable the panic mode? I don't think the button is sticking down but perhaps it is. Id really just like to disable the panic mode totally.

Edit: I was just able to reproduce this. The button does stick down.
Anyone know how to fix a sticky button?

Take it completely apart and clean it with electrical cleaner or some alcohol.

Either route I would moisten a clean rag and clean it, not spray it directly on the remote. I would leave it apart for a while to make sure it entirely dries before reassembling.

It's extremely easy to disassemble. (At least my OEM key fobs are.)

FYI guys - I have the factory TVSS (Toyota Vehicle Security System) for the 80. I am second owner of the 95 I bought in Jan of this year, the PO kept the whole info kit together.

If anyone wants a copy, I can scan it and PDF it.

PM me.
