Here guys, this is what I have in my 80, it's hidden in the car and even if you look for it you won't find it, I'm able to track my LC everywhere and even unlock the doors, kill the ignition and other nice features directly from my computer. Check it out, I'm sure most of you guys don't want your LC to get stolen and never find it again, with this device you can find it anywhere, here's the website:
GPS Vehicle Tracking Devices - Buy Advance Internet Based GPS Vehicle Tracking Devices Online
I was going to get Lojack but this is way cheaper and it has more functions that Lojack. I'm NOT affiliated to this people at all, I just thought of telling you guys of this product being that I have it and I know it works.

The windows were left down, and the stereo and all the other contents inside I asked about were still there including an ipod. The officer even started it up using a hidden key I had stashed on the truck so I could hear the motor fire right up and everything.
Holy happy dance going on right now.
Thanks to everyone for keeping their eyes peeled and my hopes up....

Congrats
Great news. I have been following your story hoping to read THAT message. Any luck finding who stole it? That would sure sweeten up the story. Glad to hear your beast is back!

Chalk one up for the good guys.
That's great news. I had a similar incident a few years ago with a modded 4Runner. Thieves stole it from behind two security gates and had it for two weeks before letting the tank run dry and burning out the fuel pump. Left it full of (stolen) tools and a note on the dashboard - "Gon 2 get fool pump, fone me l8r" . Insurance paid for a new fuel pump and the minor cosmetic damage and the cops let me keep the extra booty after 30 days!
Sometimes you luck out.
Glad you got your rig back - be sure to check it thoroughly before you drive it off the lot. make sure all your fluids are there, including diffs and stuff. You don't want to have something seize 5 minutes after signing off on your insurance company's obligation, just because some hoodlum tought it would be funny to drain your oils.
Also, carefully check for syringes or blades hidden in seats - that's an old favourite "prank" of the B&E junkies around here.

That's great news! Too bad the a$$bags that did this got away,,,,,, for now.
We once had a rifle stolen and reported it to the local police. Three years later they were cleaning out their evidence room and found it. It had been seized in a raid on a drug house. So I always joke w/ my cop friends to looks under their own a$$es when someone reports something stolen.

When its a rig you have spent so much time on you just can't replace them. Congratulations on the recovery!! Hope the rig is in good shape as it sounds.

Congrats on getting it back.. but don't forget to get the parking tickets taken care of, and keep the documentation.
Years from now, you might go to renew a license, or something else like that, and find there is a warrant for you for 6 unpaid parking tickets.

You can get an affidavit from the police stating that the vehicle was recovered on "X" date and send that to the city/DMV who issued the tickets - they will cancel them.

So I picked up the truck this morning. After 30 minutes of paperwork, a recorded interview, and waiting for the officer to get my truck off the stolen car database, I got to ride in the back of a cruiser to pick up the truck. One of the forms I signed was a form saying that the parking department was waiving all of the tickets the truck had picked up. The truck was sitting in a very visible location next to the track and field stadium at Stanford. When I say highly visible, I mean it was parked in the closest space to the main entrance to the track where hundreds of people come to run everyday. There must have been more than 30 people running on the track when we got there, and every one of them would have walked past the truck to get in. So the truck sat, for almost a full month, with the windows down, in the same spot and did not get molested. Well, there was a spider that had a party in the rear seats and left me some nice webs, but other than that and a thick layer of dust inside and out, the truck is in one piece. The stereo, subwoofer, some tools, and a cd case with a dozen cds/dvds in it were all still there. The only item I know is missing now is my wifes ipod, but now the jackass that stole it is stuck with an ipod engraved with her name on it. The officer hung out while I checked everything out, including the fluids and electrical. It fired right up and I drove it around for a while, everything seems to be as it was when it was stolen. The yahoo drove the truck less than a mile.
So I took it to the car wash, got it nice and clean and drove it home happily.
Now for that Sierra Nevada....

Wow! Got lucky on that one. Kinda strange that it was so close and didn't go anywhere for a month. Are you sure someone at work didn't play a prank or something on ya?
I accidentally left the DS door open on the 80 when I went for a 4 hour hike around one of the state parks near Santa Cruz. I came back and nothing was gone. I felt like an idiot afterwards.
Crazy
