If they are still driving it your best best is that they screw up and fill it with unleaded gasoline. They won't go far from there.

Skillet, your post was at 1:30am. Is that the time you saw it? Or is that a server error. Good eyes. Thanks for the heads-up. ~B

It's a long shot but a flier with a $1,000 reward delivered to all the diesel stations in the area may produce results. That is unless it had a lr tank and was full.

I hope this one gets returned soon.

Skillet,

What are the chances the perp saw you trying to flip a u-turn and got off the hwy ASAP?

Somebody needs to hang this dude by the balls.

the truck has dual tanks, If full..... it has some range. And it would be a pretty deaf person who would not notice that its a diesel!

You have got eyes in San Diego, I never miss an 80 on the road. I will act if I see this truck, not to worry.

There is no chance. He was down the road before I had a break in traffic to flip around.

Not to mention, I was in my very generic white ford f150.

Almost every farmer in the area has the same truck and it is not uncommon to be flipping around in the artichoke fields.

The veggie oil tank was empty, and the filter was completely clogged, on of the things that the mechanic was going to do for me. The stock tank was only about 1/2 full, so probably about 200 miles before he would have to refill. Still no word from the authorities, so far only my MUD friends have given me anything I would call an update.

I hope he comes up my way. Lots of lonely country roads, and the truck may be found merely abandoned with nobody at the wheel anymore.......

A lot of thiefs/crooks pick trucks for get away vehicles Because they know they might need to jump some curbs or smash some barriers, unfortunately makes our rigs a target for theft.

I hope you find this piece of crap and get your truck back in the shape it was.

UPDATE:

I just got a call from the Stanford police department. They found my truck today parked in one of their lots. Apparently after writing the 6th parking ticket on it someone thought they should have an officer run the plates. I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow morning, but from the officers description the truck is completely undamaged. The windows were left down, and the stereo and all the other contents inside I asked about were still there including an ipod. The officer even started it up using a hidden key I had stashed on the truck so I could hear the motor fire right up and everything.

Holy happy dance going on right now.

Thanks to everyone for keeping their eyes peeled and my hopes up....

Awesome news...let us know when you get it back...I would have it thoroughly checked out and your insurance company should pay for a full inspection and any repairs...and/or missing items. Awesome news though!!!
