Diff between Toyota 27F & Interstate MTP-24F?

Looking at the Interstate MTP-24F, but I could got out of town and get a Toyota 27F (for an extra $45 in gas). CDan stated the Toyota has different specs, but I can't find them anywhere. Anyone know?

The group 24F battery is physically smaller than the 27F. They are the same height and width but the 27 is ~2 inches longer than the 24.

The factory spec is 710CCA and a 165 minute reserve capacity.

The Toyota spec for a 24F is 575CCA and a 130 minute reserve capacity. Well below the 27F spec.

My rig came with a standard Interstate 34, 500 CCA & 95 minute reserve. When it died last summer, we checked the born-on date, 7/97 it lasted 10years, 3 of them with wheeling! Replaced it with a "specially beefed" 27F Megatron that has 810 CCA & 180 minute reserve, working great, but so did the group 34. Pretty much any good group 27 or larger battery will provide plenty of power.

Well, in keeping with my obsession with Toy OEM parts, I went to my local dealer today, Carlsbad Imports, whom I didn't think had any parts, and he called Roswell Toyota (yes, the alien town) and told them to throw the 27F on the daily delivery truck, and that it would be here in a few hours. No extra charges for shipping!

One problem, the battery had the MAR month punched out, and no year punched. What gives? Am I going to have to get some kind of statement for an extra four month warranty, or will it go by my receipt?

On the positive side, he had a small assortment of filters and fluids there, and said I could let him know what parts I need, and if they have it in Roswell, he'll have it to me the same day. I told him I deal strictly with Dan from Albuquerque for parts (who he knew), but I'd start buying the Toyota Red from him. I guess if I get in a pinch and need an emergency part, at least I'll have that avenue.

The INTERSTATE batteries are the OE replacement batteries used by the TOYOTA and LEXUS Dealers in the southeast region. I know that many won't belive me but the dealers recieve a lesser quality battery from interstate distributors hence the deiiference between a MT27F and a MTP 27F the MTP is a higher quality Battery. The dealers recieve the MT series batteries.

I have the Interstate version in my 1996 LX450 since 2001. The OEM battery failed in 2001. At the time, I was told Interstate makes the batteries for Toyota/Lexus.

Interstate is the vendor for Toyota's replacement batteries in the US.

Original equipment batteries come from a variety of sources, including Panasonic, Hi Dash, Johnsn Controls, and Yuasa.
