Brake disc worn out / uneven

Gradually working around doing all the jobs on my newishly acquired '93

Front brake disc is bad.. the outer side is down to about 3mm, but the inner is still around 8mm I'm guessing a sticky caliper, as this can't be normal ?

Also, what's the min spec for the rotor ? I know it needs replacing (got a pair of disks, just need to find pads and time - hope the caliper bolts come out easy), but I'm wondering how easy I need to be on the brakes until I fix it over the next week or two.

Finally, read on the other thread about 100 series pads (presumably being better) - is this a straight fit, or do any bits of caliper assembly need changing ? Is their a real improvement ?

Thanks in advance - JB

I'd say you're safe to drive around on what you have for the short term.

Prior to removing parts, spray them down with a good quality pentrating oil.

The 100 series pads are a direct fit, although sometimes aftermarket pads might be a little thick due to their shims. In my experience, OE 100 series pads dropped right in.

The caliper bolts normally aren't that bad (in my experiences). However, if you have a frozen caliper, you'll probably be better off in the long run replacing the calipers.
