Does A440F have a filter to be replaced when changing fluid?

As the title says, is there a filter in there? i got the fluid drained and the pan off but i didnt see a filter, where is the little SOB? I didnt want to pull anything apart till i knew for sure? Anybody?

Toyota uses metal screens that usually last the life of the transmission unless you go rabbit hunting and smash the pan or some such other activity.

Yup, there's a rectangular screen that you should pull off and hose out with brake clean. Be careful you don't tear it. Besides the pan gasket, you'll need a new gasket for the screen. Don't forget to also clean off the magnets that are in the bottom of the pan.

thanks, any chance you got a picture of the parts i need to remove to get at the screen? im a little nervous around auto tranny's as i dont really understand them.
