Power Steering Problems
Ok guys, I recently replace the Power Steering Pump on my 94 LC, I did all the job myself following instructions from different people, I believe I did everything right but after I got everything installed I figured I had to purged the system, I did this by turning the Steering wheel side by side. I'm not 100% sure this was the right way to do it, I read that some guys did it that way and had no problems after they were done.
But today, I saw some mild, very mild leaking from the gearbox, I don't know if this is related to the way I purged the system or not, Please if somebody know something about this, please help me with some advices. Thanks!!! __________________ Toyota Rocks!!! ![]() Exercising my Second Amendment Right Every Single Day!!!!

Did you use a new O-ring on the resivour line connection at the pump? Mine was leaking there when the engine was off, and sucking air/cavitating while it was running. A new O-ring
was all that was required. Is your new pump quiet? Can you see exactly were the leak is? __________________ "Stupid things, happen to smart people that are affraid to ask stupid questions" 93 FZJ80 Full Load w/lockers, 2.5 OME, #7pin/CDL, Custom Bumper w/M8274, 315 MTZs 78 FJ40 Retired.....never left me, not once. 81LJ, 89JLX, 01Vitara SUZUKI wifemobiles (the only other 4X4 to own) 76 Chevy PU 292 6cyl, Restored w/collector plates |

Yes, the replacement pump came with a bunch of new O-rings, I replaced that one, the one that goes from the reservoir and attaches to the pump, I checked today and It's not leaking from there.
Althought I had two new O-rings left out from installation, I can't seem to find anything leaking from the PS Pump, I can see some drops on the Gearbox. And before when the Pump was bad, It used to leaking over the differential, now the drops seem to come from the front of the car, I check the hoses that attaches the pump to the Gearbox and no oil at all, just in case the pump was leaking and the oil running trought the hoses to the front, but that's not the case here. Is there any way that after the installation of the pump the Gearbox started licking? If so, Why that might happen???
