air flow with different fans

Does anybody have information about the different style fans for cooling? I was looking at removing the mechanical fan and installing an electric fan or installing a flex - a - lite mechanical. Just looking for a littlel more air flow across the condensor and the radiator.

Changing the fluid in the fan clutch will net much increased airflow with the stock parts.

Not sure if you did a search on this, but I remember a similar thread about a year ago where folks went back and forth on mechanical vs. electrical. There is a JDM cooling fan available that is a direct bolt on. I believe CDan has one on his rig.

I have an OE fan and "blue" clutch, and that works just fine, even here in Phoenix.

If you are having cooling issues, I would PM your cooling system first.

Just to clarify, it is an "auxiliary" fan, not a replacement for the mechanical one.

I have now BOTH the blue clutch mod AND the JDM fan. Its actually a fan for the AC but it was not available in the US. As far as something other than those, I would say don't waste your time/money.

A flex fan will push some major air, but at the cost of some hp :(

not to mention sounding like a jet plane lol

I guess I was under the assumption that there was an electric replacement fan that I could install in place of my mechanical fan.

ok, this brings me to a question. Was looking under the hood at jfz80's 95 80 series, his fan has a circular plastic piece that rings around the outside of the fan. He has a blue fan clutch. I also have a 95 80 series with the blue fan clutch and my fan does not have the plastic ring banding the fan blades together? Anyone know why they are different and which is older/newer, upgraded?

EDIT: ok, reading photoman's thread answered my question. His is a supercharger fan, which makes sense since he has a supercharger. duh...
