Idiot Lights On Need Help '91

Not everyday but my wife's rig has the A/T Temp , Brake, and the square red idiot light for the charging system come on when starting and will stay lit when driving. She also noted the green "D" light on the in dash prindle was flickering one day.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Joe

Classis signs of a dying alternator.

Amen to that. I had to buy an aftermarket one 2 years ago for my pickup, as I was on a long road trip thru Canada when my original 19 YO alternator died. Ended up getting a reman'd "Champion" labled one from Canadian Tire (local dealer told me 2-3 days wait), changed it in the parking lot. Within two months, the bearings started to whine. It died on me yesterday, no more charging. Two years and less that 20K miles. $180 down the drain.

Thanks for the quick help gentlemen!
I had thoughts of this as the battery went dead (enough not to turn the engine over) after sitting for about a week and when I charged it and started it, the gauge wasn't reading up in the normal area but a little lower.

I guess I should of waited a few days before I bought the wife a new camera for her birthday. I could of wrapped a new alternator instead.
