click, click, click, click locks...
My power locks have developed gremlins. On trails and fire roads the power locks are trying to lock almost continuosly. I have pulled the DS control panel apart to check for obvious problems. I could find none. I am not super electrically inclined but do have some tools. Any sudgestions to help find an intermittent problem such as this? Also, if you know where the two mystery springs go I could use that info as well. (if I can find them again)
BTW, I am sure it is the DS panel as I unplugged it today and the clicking stopped.

It can't hurt to strip it down and clean everything really well in that case.... It took me about 15 minutes to clean mine up (I was after slow window gremlins....).

It's the door open sensors, as the truck is rattling and twisting the locking system is getting signaled that the doors are opening. Try turning the automatic door locking feature off on the alarm.

I've done it before with mine. If you have the same alarm as I do (pretty sure you do) then the guide on Slee's site walks you through it. It's not in the FSM as the alarms are technically a post-factory install.
My thoughts are: 1) Check the latches (on the body) to make sure that the two screws in them are in all the way. I've had several Toyo's where one or both screws back out, then the door jiggles. You can also shut all your doors then pull on them to make sure they're nice and tight. 2) Short. If it's only happening on fairly rough roads maybe there's a worn wire that's bare and is contacting some metal and causing the gremlins. __________________ '97 LX450 - The -mobile'96 LX450 - Mine! ![]() Triple locked, 315 General Grabber AT2, OME Medium, 1" body lift, belly skid plate, grey wire mod.
