Cheap and Easy Gauge Mounting

So today I took on this project becuse I need a place to mount a third gauge. I have a two gauge pod alreday and needed to mount this tranny temp gauge. I looked around a came up with using a piece of abs pipe I had in the garage, the gauge fit perfect. Cut it to an appropriate lenght and added an angle cut at the other end, 45 degrees.

By removing the four screws the pamnel came out quickly, I drilled a hole at the base in order to run the wires and with some black paint and crazy glue there you go...cheap easy gauge mounting..

Can you please post pictures of your temp sensor connection to the tranny? Nice install on gauge, not too bad

That is cool. What is holding the gauge in the tube? Is it a tight enough fit that it won't move or did you secure it with something?

Ok so I got the sender in today...I highly reccomend an angle drill for this mission...cause without it I don't know how I would have acomplished it...Two things I learned...use the right sized drill bit...makes taping holes much easier and second if you put the truck in neutral while getting the front output lined up don't forget to shift it into high before panicking cause the truck won't move....I am not to proud to admit got a little concerned when I went to move the truck and it wouldn't move...finally remembered it was in neutral...drove and shifted fine after fixing that issue...see link below for the pics and more details of what I did...
