3FE EFI Relay Ground Wire ??????
Is there a write up, post, or something showing how to replace the EFI ground wire on the 3FE? Which wire is it, where does it run, what kind of connections does it have?

So it's just a short wire in the fuse box under the hood? Which wire is it, color/stripe? What kind of connectors do these wires use?

I don't have the colors on this computer but can get them in the am. What problem are you having or what are you trying to accomplish?

92 3fe EFI relay Terminal #1 brown is ground Chasis/body for relay coil, #2 red-yel is 12v+ from Efi fuse for hot side of relay load contacts this is the same circuit as ECU terminal#2(BATT+), #3 red 12v+ for relay coil from ECU terminal #3(MREL) This is where ECu controls the relay, #4 yel-red When energized relay provides12v+ to ECU terminals #1(+B1) and #7(+B) also to almost all Ecu controlled actuators(idle spd cont, O2 heaters, VSVs ect), Fuel pump through Circuit opening relay contacts. EFI relay load circuit can be monitored at the FP terminal in the diagnostic connector while problem happens to see if you are loosing voltage (this is a quick test, more accurate testing would involve monitor voltage at each component to check if the wire has problem between components or at splices in harness).
Does your problem happen once per drive or repeatedly once in OD? Anything other than OD affecting the problem? J |

Yahoo 3FE Group
You may have to join, but everybody there loves that engine. ![]() I recall that part #s for individual wires in the relay socket are used to repair the socket. In my case, a new relay fixed all sorts of odd dying behaviors on an FJ62 , but that model's relay is stand alone type. __________________ ![]() Joe aka 4XODDIC ( allow me to pronounce that for you: 4 By, Odd Eye, See! ) aka the One Eyed Guy Owning Toyotas Since 1975 TLCA 8537 99-00 Tundra LTD 4X4; 01-90 Samurai; 07-88 TinTop Samurai; 08-97 LX450 |

I'm a member of 3FE, and I couldn't find it after 30 minutes of searching.
Thanks jpw, what do I do to check that FP in the diag terminal? It happens in OD mainly, but has happened otherwise. Happens several times while driving, normally on longer trips than shorter, and wont happen unless im going 50ish or better. __________________ '92 - 3FE POWER'D! -- Slee 6"/OME 863J, Pro-Comp 14" ES3000/N74L, Gen. 2 Slee Front Control Arms, T-G Sliders, Ext. If you have a voltmeter monitoring the FP terminal voltage (should be at charging system voltage minus.-1.0v) will tell you if the efi or fuel pump/circuit opening relay are having an intermittent issue. This is a quick test as this the FP term is at one extreme of the circuit. It is not a all inclusive test as this circuit has many parallel branches that could have a problem and not show up at the FP term. A problem with either relay should show up as a momentary drop in voltage as problem happens.
