How can i tell if my birfs are bad

My birfs only click with a hard left or right turn looks like minor greay grease around them. Are they bad? Do they need replacement.

only way to tell is to pull them and see what condition they are in.

at the least and probably also the most the front axle needs to be rebuilt. should solve the problem and put things back to right with your existing birfs. check the FAQ for a complete explanation on how to do this yourself.
