TLC axle similarities and differences
as far as wheel bearings, birfields, axle shafts and wheel bearings, how different are fj60's, bj75's and fj80's? are all LC axles pretty much the same? full floating rears, birfields and all that, or does every model have its differences? i'm trying to learn how to repair and rebuild all land cruiser model axles, and i'm just trying to get an idea of the variations. not sure where to start...sorry for the vague request....

Depends on the market. In OZ almost all LCs are full floating rears with the exception of some 70 Series. IN the US the only FF rear was the FZJ80 with ABS. Brifields in all the solid axle fronts, but different sizes from 60-70-80. While the parts are all different part numbers/sizes, the setup is the same. Not much difference changing birfields in a 40 or an 80, just different size bits.

Short size axles are same, but longer vary from 40 to 70 to 60 .. from 90 on the front in 70 and 80 are 8" High Pinion Reverse Cut .. and you have 100 and 200 series with IFS ..
The 105 share the same frame, axles and drive train as 80 series .. |
