possible short in wiring harness?? NOT EGR

Ok so its a sad day for the cruiser and probably my wallet too.

I have noticed an intermittent stumble lately on acceleration in the 80, and mostly accelerating from a stop. Last summer this came up and I poked and prodded until i found part of the wiring harness that would cause the 80 to stumble if you pulled/twisted/messed w/ enough. Turns out these two bundles were going to the TPS and the IAC. I have a 95 w/ a supercharger installed and part of this install required the dealership to lengthen the harness 6'' for the rearangement of the TB. I redid all 12 of these connections and added in and extra inch or so to relieve the tension that was still there. I used pigtail/crimp connectors and did not solder (sp) the connections.

The odd part is, as you accelerate, the more throttle you give it, the more it stalls; however if you manually twist throttle linkage it doesnt encounter any problems. So you can run barely above idle but when you give it gas, it dies. I have inspected the harness at the EGR and it is not burnt through the wrap. Also when pulling on these two bundles it does not move the main harness. You can here the short popping though when it does and it sounds to be on DS of motor under intake manifold but really its kinda hard to discern exactly where.

I believe i have a short; im going to unwrap the two bundles and inspect my previous repair, but can anyone help me try and figure out the best way of diognosis? Electrical aint my thing but i got a currency detector and am trying to get an ohm meter to me right now. Dont suppose there is an easier way to find it than testing each individual wire? are there particular segments that you would have to work within to pinpoint a problem?

last year i tested resistance in TPS and all was good, but does this sound like a faulty sensor perhaps?

any and all help appreciated cause b/w this and my fuel leak that started today i cant even get to work.

j

page 5 already and no thoughts
I unwrapped the two bundles to the TPS and IAC and all looks good, but diagnosing has taken a pause until i can get gas back in the truck.

Well, as u already know, trouble shooting stuff like this is a PITA. One of the known areas of this problem is the big wire bundle that feds out near the firewall and #6 cyl. Wire can melt back there; losing control voltages to the injectors from the computer.
The FSM may have something in its troubleshooting section.
