54mm Hub Nut Socket

Does anyone know where to get a 54mm Hub Nut Socket for the front axle rebuild? My understanding is they are are hard to track down...

Thanks.

I stock the OEM Toyota wrench. This version has a 1/2 inch drive as opposed to some that are 3/4 drive.

They go to board members for $24.71

On a related note, how much for the rear axle tool?

I spent a weekend driving to every parts store in Chicago about 6 mo ago, and ended up having to order one online. Possibly a Lee auto or NAPA, or you could call around to local shops and see if you can find one to borrow. If all else fails, type 54mm socket into google. Here's one result.

Thanks, Dan. I'll be sure to order one when I call next week to get all the seals and bearing for a front axle rebuild.

Check with your local cruiserheads. You can probably find one to borrow, and may even get a volunteer to help! Its good to get to know your local brethren.

I bought one from the crazy Toyota parts man too. It's in my trail bag.

If you have a local Snap-On truck, he'll probably have one. That's where I got mine. $25.

Trail Gear, $14 in 3/8" drive: Trail-Gear Inc > Knuckle Tools

I got mine off of the Snap-On truck for under $20 a few years ago as well.

I now have a 54mm hub nut socket. I live in SLC. I am rebuilding my front axle next week if I have time (I love being unemployed). If anyone has the time and wants to swing by to help/learn with me when I do the front axle rebuild, drop me a PM. I have not set an exact date, but it will be later next week as I leave June 17th for NZE for 4 months.

If anyone in the area wants to borrow the hub nut socket in the future, just drop me a PM.
