Question Finally...at 36 I finally got...and I have a QUESTION or two!

what I have wanted since I was 14. Well, not exactly, but close enough since it has to be a daily driver. After losing my Tacoma in the devorce and wrecking my ankle for the 2nd time ( I will be ina cast for 6 months) it was time to break down and get rid of the Isuzu Trooper with 200+k on it. Yesterday I flew to NYC and picked up my 1997 Lexus LX450. It made the 650 mile trip back to Tennessee with little effort other than killing me at the pumps...but maybe it is the pumps that are killing me in reality... Oh how I wish it had Toyota badging, but alas I found a pretty good deal on the Lexus. 123k. My question is where is the best place/junkyard to find a few odds and ends that need replacing. For example, the owner has installed 4" Sony LCD screens and one of them is where the front center light/sunroof switches are. I have the small plate that the switches mount to, but to REMOVE this screen, I will need the larger outer piece (tan) and I also need the passenger passenger's door inside skid plate, if you will. While loading kayaks today I already have found a need to find a replacement for the one that is missing. AND can anyone tell me how to trace down the problem that occurs that allows the passenger side front window to be rolled down via the driver's controls but not back up? Front floor mat reccomendations are accepted as well.

Anyone interested in a 4" Sony screen?

Best,
Katie

Welcome Katie

A mod will probably move this to the 80 series forum soon. To get those parts you may want to post in the FS section and see if anyone is selling. Also, you may want to call cruiserdan at American Toyota in NM; he is the parts guru and is generally cheaper than your local dealer by worthwhile margin.

Irbis Offroad

IRBIS Offroad may have the small parts needed as they are often parting out 80 Series Cruisers.

You can also try Welcome to CruiserParts.net or send a Private Message (PM) to cruiserdan on this forum. C-Dan is the parts manager at American Toyota and will give you a good deal and ship new parts to your door.

Good luck...

I wouldn't buy odds and ends that need replacing from a j/y.

(I think I know what you mean, please don't take my twisting of your words the wrong way < Welcome!)

C-Dan for parts that wear, Classifieds for spares.

on you, and your new ride.

front floor mats, if your the outdoorsy type i would recommend husky liners, if your not the outdoorsy type order a set of oem color matched. If your not anal about your cruiser yet, Costco has some heavy duty ones, they dont looks that cool but they work! have fun with your new addiction! oh and tell me what you miss about your tacoma, my wife and I are trying to decide on a 05-06 tundra double cab, or a 01-04 Tacoma x-tended cab, we will keep the cruiser just wondering if the Lexus has filled that tacoma void in your heart!

x2 on the Husky liners. They catch just about anything that you can get on your feet.
