just wondering if anyone know if these will fit our rigs, i saw them on an fj at the dealer today, they're flat black with a trd cap in the middle, i know the're 16 inch rims but no idea on width...backspacing etc, just wondering if cruiser dan or anyone else can chime in here and possibly a cost and a pic of them so people see what i'm talking about.

Matt, I don't know about the rims you are talking about, but the black steel wheels off a FJ-Cruiser fit fine on a FZJ-80, bolt pattern, backspacing and everything. The steel wheels are 17X7.5.

Yes, they fit. I mounted my friends set on my 80 to see how it looked. Decided it wasn't worth it and took them off.

wrong ones, god wish i had a pic, they're aluminum, flat black with a trd hub cap, 16'' rims, anyone know?

they won't sell the black ones aftermarket. I had a buddy try. You can get the aluminum ones above for about $120 a piece though. Here is the pic of the Trail Team Edition...

Yes they fit. The raw colored ones (Pictured above) are from an 07 TRD. The black ones in my thread and also above are the same backspacing as the 07's. By the way the TT Fj in my pics is in my driveway. It belongs to my father.

They stuck out just a bit (Like 1/2" each) further than my stock 80 wheels.

You will like this...The stealership salesman tried telling us that these were $800.00 a wheel when we were making the deal.

I started laughing at him. You should have seen his face. I asked him how he could say that with a straight face.

That is awesome. Some dealerships either don't know, or are just trying to scare people away. Here is Jason DeMellos post over at FJForums.....

"TRD 16in wheels Silver group buy for SoCal
This isn't really a group buy but a chance to get these wheels cheaper than you normally would.

I'm ordering 5 for me and 5 for anther member. My only reason for posting this is in hopes to get our shipping cost down. And pass this deal and savings on to you guys as well.

Why you ask am I getting a TRD wheel out of the many other wheels out there. It's simple they are the right size with the right back spacing and IMO the right width. They also weigh less than most aftermarket wheels on the market and cost wise they are not bad for a quality wheel.

So you have to the end of the week to call Shannon and order yours, all wheels will be shipped here to our shop in Corona Ca local pick up only.

This is a chance for you to get a good set of wheels at a great price.

So the wheels will be 120.00 each and shipping should come out to about 15.00 or less per wheel. If we get enough people that cost will come down on shipping.

Call and ask for Shannon you have till Friday then he is sending them out.
800-327-2087 or 713-943-7010 Tell Shannon you want the DeMello deal on wheels."

no spacers? on an 80 series? with the trd cap on, u have a pic? are they the same backspacing as our 80 rims?

So far, the BIG unanswered question is: Will these fit on an 80 with the center caps in place? Without spacers. Someone said "yes" but I'm not convinced that is what was meant so could somebody clear this up?

DougM

I didn't see where it was stated that the center caps be installed?

I said the wheels would fit, as I have mounted the 07 TRD wheels on my 80.The backspacing on the 07 TRD's is the same as the 08 TRD's.

The center caps did NOT fit on the 80. Let me say that again, The center caps did not fit the 80. They didn't have that positive "Click" and I fear they would fall off quite soon after departing the garage.

If you really want some pics I can mount the 08 TRd's off of my fathers TT this weekend and post pics. I'm in the middle of an engine rebuild, so it will be a garage shot as the block is at the machine shop.

Here is where I got the idea to mount the TRD's from in the first place.

Let me know if you really want to see them mounted on an emerald green 94. I did not use spacers when I mounted the 07 TRD's.

Pics.

Here are the pics as promised. I only mounted the front, as I had other things to do. The hub cover will not fit as I previously stated.

The stock 80 series lug nuts will not fit, you need the sleeved style as these wheels do not have steel inserts already in place.

There are two numbers in the back of the wheel. The first is PTR 20-35080

and the forged number is PT904-35070. They are 16x7.5.

Just found out this weekend, while picking up some plugs, wires and dizzy cap for my 80, not all the TRD wheels are 16" - my local dealer had a Texas Edition FJ (anyone heard of that?) that had 17" TRD wheels in black.

All that doubt and work and one guy posts a comment? :flipoff2:

Nice watch in post 17.
