Ha! My climate control lights up depending on which airflow button i hit. Feet only - the whole thing is lit. Feet and defrost - the panel goes out. Never did try to figure out why...

The aerial switch did not light on mine (95 LC) when I bought it. I was fine with that until I read this post.

Pulled the dash apart to make sure the bulb was in all the way. No dice. Called local toyota dealer (out of curiosity mainly and did not want to bother CDan). Local guy said it would be like 8 bucks and he had to order it.

Thought about converting to a small LED bulb, but those bulbs were like 6 bucks including shippping.

Went to radio shack and found a two pack of bulbs for under $2 bucks.

Tech:
Carefully removed old bulb from socket, threaded new bulb leads into plastic socket. Trim excess leads as appropriate.

Radio Shack #272-1092
Rated Voltage: 12.0V
Rated Current 60mA
Lamp type 7219
Bulb type T-1
Brightness 0.15MSCP
Average life (hours) 10,000

Most of that means little to me other than 12 Volt.

I used the other bulb in the pack to do my hazard button.

What matters is when I turn on the lights, the antenna and hazard switch lights work and seem to be comparable in brightness to the radio etc.

Now speaking of radio, I noticed some of the buttons there do not light up....Hmmmm.

Hope this helps someone else.

Mine was lit in my '94 before I removed it. It's been in the center console now for almost 5 years. Thanks for helping me remember that the antenna used to be powered.

You guys got me going again!

My antenna, rear defoger and hazard were all out. So I took them out got the bulbs out and went to my local Toyota dealer to order them.
Hazard and rear defoger were the same except rear defoger had 2 bulbs, one with a white cap. The antenna was different and much smaller.

Will install tonight!

I hope you took a good lubricant with you to the dealer when you ordered bulbs there. Cdan's price with shipping was less that two local stealers wanted for the same damn little bulbs!

I hadn't even realized those switches went out until this thread. I need to r&r my valve cover and replace the washer diverter valve so I ordered the bulbs for my "D" light (I guess I'll have to post a retraction on the no "D" club thread), hazard, rear defroster and power antennae switches. There's still more to fix. Maybe one day I'll catch up, but not today.

Wow, think of the luxuries we enjoy: we get to worry about our dash lights whereas a friend of mine with a new Mercedes E Class wont drive to Vancouver because there aren't enough Mercedes dealerships between Calgary and Vancouver.
