I swear I priced them out before and they weren't much of a $$ difference... Can't find the data at the moment though...

As to what years these work on, if the fenders are the same from 91-97 and the intake is on the RH side, Then it should work. Can anyone who's more versed on the body differences across the years of the 80 chime in here?

BTW, for all those wanting one, I just wanted to bring it to your attention that on a US spec 80, the stock antenna motor is directly in the way of the lower assembly of the snorkel where it enters and runs inside the fender. The antenna motor MUST be removed and/or relocated.

I'll also check on shipping with people at my work, we do a quite a bit of international business.

No big deal.... I have to fix mine anyhow because I hit a low hanging snow laiden branch a few weeks ago and the antenna isn't going down all the way. The up side is now I can run my punk rock jack ball and my kids get a kick out of that...

How about relocating the power antenna to the driver's side like the JDM and AUS models?

Put me down for 2 ('97 LX and '97 FZJ80)

Question for the more knowledgeable folks. Can the "air cleaner element" or whatever the top piece is called be changed out for something less bulbous (borrowing Doc's word )? I just can't seem to get past that look :(

Ferg et al,

I think the Cap should be at 33-35 for now, as i have no idea on his stock situation, and i am trying to locate the missing bracket from elsewhere.

Let me get his reply, on his stock situation, and then I will let you know where it stands, also i am trying to contact some freight forwarders in Dubai, see how much it will be to ship.

Another point each cubic meter will take about 11 sets (according to green73's box dimensions), so at 33-34 sets, we are talking about 3 cubic meters of container space (ocean freight, or air cargo), weight shouldn’t be an issue.

I must add the whole thing snowballed; I can even negotiate an even better deal at these numbers, if their stock supplies of these sets are available. Lets hold it for a day or two as today it’s holiday, and so is Friday in Dubai, so maximum I think I should hear from them is by Saturday.

If there's still room on the list, I would like one as well. It wasn't a mod I had anticipated doing for a while, but I can't resist cruiser deals. Thanks.

Snorkel

Will this unit require discnnecting or relocation of the automatic antenna on my 97 FJ. If not, I am procably in. Any pictures of the unit? I have seen plenty of aftermarket units, never a Toyota unit. Thanks

I figure once we know stock available and more about shipping, if we have to cut the list, then we have to cut the list. I've kept an alternate list in a spreadsheet to be sure to keep it in the same order that folks have expressed interest.

Good luck on the 60 series units--Toyota discontinued them. My thought on it is there just *has* to be one in stock somewhere in this huge world... If only there was a way to check every single dealers stock on parts...

In a post above right before Doc mentioned the word bulbous....

Here's my email to him, i am trying to see if he can order the missing parts, like i said it snowballed.
"Hello Sundar,

OK can u hold me at least one set, until i see what others want to do, initially they wanted at least 35 sets to be shipped to the US, and i have to figure a way to pay you, for the other parts can u get them within a certain time frame, or is it not possible to order the missing parts to make an even 35 sets or more.

Fouad"

Can they backorder? I'm sure we *all* wouldn't mind waiting a few extra weeks to get a larger shipment?

Ah, I responded too quickly. Looks like you're already checking that out with them. Awesome! Thanks again for working that end of it for us!

Somebody needs to read the thread a wee bit closer...

Just a few threads up in bold writing it mentions that yes, on a US spec 80, you must remove or relocate the antenna motor.

A not so bulbous pre-filter...

This is for the 70 series topper. I'm hoping to get one of these It's a bit more $$, but I like the look quite a bit more.

17730-66010 PRECLEANER ASSY 119.00 uae dirhams about $32 bucks

Now, obviously none of us on here have attempted to do this before so there is no guarantee that it will fit. Only proof I have is the pic earlier in this thread. The good news is that if it doesn't work out, the 80 series one is available through CDan (for around $70 bucks though).

fghanem, can you have them check stock on these as well?

Here's the part number for the 70 series, and the price is from the price list.

17709-61031 Jan 1990 Feb 1992 to for the same part
17730-61010 Feb 1992- but I think this part is more like it as the previous part was appl
