Yep.

So, I'm officially admitting defeat for getting the snorks from Dubai. Too bad we couldn't get something working. It would seem that Sundar just isn't interested.

That being said, I'm only in for an OEM snork. I originally contacted Dave back when green did...I was about to make a purchase when this all came about... Anyway, I'd love to still have a group buy on the OEM snorks through Dave. I'm getting an OEM snork no matter what, and its always nice to save a few bucks. And FYI, back then, the snork price was over $300 USD plus shipping.

So, Dave, can you please provide current guaranteed pricing for a complete "kit" for us? As well as a guaranteed quantity? After we see that, we can set a date (how long?--two weeks?) for everyone to pay up.

I don't mind handling the money--I don't need to, but I don't mind doing it. I'll do it for free as long as all service charges (such as paypal fees) are paid by each person. If anyone has other suggestions, speak up.

it's freaking snork time. I've waited long enough.

Sorry for the delay guys, I sponsor the rock crawling events here and had the season opener this weekend, it tends to eat my time.

Brackets will be included. I was just trying to save you guys a few bucks if you had the bolts on hand.

Anyway, will write it up and get current costs and give you a firm quote within the first two days of this working week. Fiscal year end has come and gone for Toyota and all the prices change that day. So I have to get new numbers.

Costs and shipping

What you will get is indicated in the image. Full load with clamps and bolts.

Shipping by air with full insurance is 8,250yen to anywhere in the US or Canada.

Cost of the parts is 27,922yen per set for 20 sets. If we ordered prior to April 1st it would have been cheaper. Not much I can do about that as my time machine is broken.

As you probably know Japanese manufacturers do not hold inventory, everything is done on a projected "as needed" basis. Sometimes this can cause issues when I ask for oddball parts. In general it is not a problem but I need you to understand this. After ordering I will be issued an expected delivery date. I will alert you if this is longer than I think is acceptable. 20 or more sets of snorkels is going to cause a wrinkle.

Our account with Toyota is a commercial account. We are expected to know what we are doing. As such it is a non-return account. So once we order the goods there is no turning back.

Interbank currency exchange rates (rough numbers as things go up and down all the time) can be found here:

XE.com - The World's Favorite Currency and Foreign Exchange Site

You will never get these rates but it will give you working numbers that are close.

If you guys want to move this forward select a leader that you trust, order up and transfer the funds to him. When he has a list of 20 or more then we pull the trigger. Let's put a hard deadline on this, somewhere about 2 weeks out. But your call.

If you want a set but don't want this or that I will quote one by one but it is going to cost more. I dropped my margin for the bulk concept.

It equates to roughly $80. I am onboard but I have a suggestion who ever this is being shipped to. We should give that person a $100 each for inter state shipping and other headaches. Because this is quite a responsiblity. I have been through the UPS gamut and it's annoying to say the least and the charges are no where close to what is quoted on the website. Just my .02.

More like $270 + $80 shipping, using XE.com's currency exchange.

So $350 shipped to the USA for a snorkel , complete with all brackets and bolts?

or is it ~80 bucks for all of it?

I'm #13 on the original list, and still in.

I don't think anyone is heading this up anymore. Please contact Dave directly and he will tell you how to wire the $$.

Give it a few more days before we all wet the bed and abandon ship. I really don't want to do paypal on this as the margins for my commercial account will suck and a wire transfer for that kind of money is going to be too much on that end.

Where are all the leaders and instigators hiding???

I'm still here. I've just been waiting for others to speak up about who is still in and how you all want to do the money part... Do we want to stick with the first list and give the first 20 first dibs on getting in on this? Or just start a new list? It's quite a different price so I'm sure most everyone will just drop out.

I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do as I don't want the 80 series topper. i want a 70 series one so I will prob just have to order separate from the group...

Set up a bank account, get the people that are in to send the money. Once the money is in add to the list.

Make a deadline and get it done.

I can not set up an account from here. Tried that.

For the 70 top ask when you order and I will do that separate but ship at the same time to save costs. Metal or plastic, better specify.

But someone trustworthy has to pick this up and run it. No leader and it will fail.

Thanks for the effort everyone put into this. I hope this doesn't discourage other possible group buys in the future.
