No kidding. Well, since it's to the top, we took the truck in for a full detail, they shampoo'd and vac'd the carpet, cleaned the leather, never a smell after that.

Oh you got lucky it came out. I have had this situation twice. once in the back of our suburban and once in a buddy's little commuter car.
In the suburban we tried *everything*. We tried it all. I wound up cutting the carpet out (rear cargo area) and pitching it. in the commuter car it was worse. GAllon of milk, for a week, in middle of august. We stripped the interior, took the carpet out, replaced the undermat and powerwashed the carpet. It mostly came out but on real hot days you can still smell it. |

Had a pound of ground beef slide out of a grocery back into the door pocket. It sat there for a couple of days. In the summer.
That was bad, but really the worst smell came from leaving the sunroof open and the windows down during a torrential rainfall a few months ago. I was honestly close to ditching the 80 after that. It did inspire me to buy a car. |
