Beautiful job - great attention to detail with the scroll cuts. Those eye hooks are quick-connects, right? So you can pull them for the thermorest when the time comes. Very nice design and craftsmanship!

That looks great! I need to do some research on tracks / latches / tiedowns so I can plan out a build for a drawer system.

But I have learned alot , welding mig aluminum is a little different.
Just as reference, preheat is the key to a really smooth weld since the Al dissipates heat so rapidly. That is, if you want to do it without high amperage / laying down too much metal (small dia wire).

Best,
Max

What material did you cover your aluminum with and where did you find it.

Thanks guys!

Ok:
Big D : Yes, its a 2.5" Thermorest knock off.
mainemike: yes, the Core Trax eyes are QD.
Ishikawa : Thanks for the tech tip.
Womacje : its a 1/8" coin vinyl and I had a hard time finding it in colors and sizes that I was after .
I ended up finding an on line source that sells garage mats, Sooooo I ended up buying a big a$$ spool.

If any body wants some I have plenty extra That I dont really have a use for.

robmir : Thanks for the props but I have much respect for all the custom systems out there

I was talking about the jobs I saw in my country, most of them were contracted to people who has major experience as speaker cabinets makers, (this cruiser owners were too lazy to fabricate the drawers by themself) and of course they are too heavy and not waterproof.

Most of the custom systems I saw on the forum members are astonishing and I would die to have something close.

Just an update;

I put this thing through the paces in DV and it did killer!
No rattling or weird noises opperated perfect , taking the fridge out at nite was a snap.
The sleeping platform was exellent , even with the jackasses (burro's) wakeing me up.
Clean up of all the dust was a quick wipe with a wet towel.

ken

It think I would have removed the rear seat belts too. And maybe the 3rd row seat mounts. It looks like they are just in the way. But everything else looks great. Good job.
