| What is: The Best Sounding, Reasonably Priced, No Mod Front / Rear Speakers? Yes, I've searched, and searched, and searched.....
Not looking for the cheapest or the most expensive front / rear speakers, but I need new ones.
I have an amp and sub that will be installed when the head unit is (soon), so I need speakers that can handle a little bass.
Don't want to make any mods, just plug and go.
Thanks for the help.

| I don't know that there's one that requires NO mods. I installed Blau thinlines in the front and Ecliplse's in the rear, very easy install, minimal work. |

Geoff | I'm very happy with the Boston Acoustics S55s that came with my truck. One was destroyed (someone kicked it accidentally and I couldn't find a replacement set locally) so I recently added a pair of Blaupunkt PCxb542 units in the front doors. The BAs were slightly "warmer", but on the other hand, the Blaupunkts are more crisp. It's a matter of preference. The Blaus were about half the price of the BAs, and just as good.
FWIW I'm running a Cerwin Vega 10" sub in the cargo area, which makes a big difference,

| Bostons are nice. e-Bay for MB Quart. If you are willing to be patient, you can find folks selling used ones that were still made in Germany prior to when Fosgate bought them. Go with the old Q series. They are the best sounding (IMHO) out there, wickedly pricy new, but you can find good deals.
SUB is either JBL Audio, or work down from there. MB Quart has a good 10".
Polk Audio also makes good all around speakers for the price. Infinity is wonderful for the mids and highs, but not for the lows. I think they are pricey for what you get anymore.

| depends on if you have the door speakers, or if you have the dash speakers. there are not too many speakers out there that drop right in. I was lucky a few years back with some pioneers that had a beauty ring around them. i didn't need to do anything except plug'n play.
I recently purchased infinitiy's for the rear and I'm going to purchase the the larger5 1/4's for the front soon. they will also need modification like the rears did. |

| Item #'s? Do you have specific item #'s for the speakers you are referring to?
What about wiring? Will the original wiring be sufficient?
I'm no stereo guru, so thanks for the help!
