USPS power seat won't move back

Just developed this issue last night. The US passenger front seat won't move back, but moves all other directions.

Search no help.

...it's the 'plug', I'll betcha'

I think it's the nylon gear assembly on the RF of the seat frame. I've had this happen twice - once per seat. In both cases, the little nylon threaded male 'plug' works its way out of housing, and the seat won't move back.

Dan's got 'em.....but you have to buy the entire nylon assembly.

Check your DS - LF of frame. The threaded 'plug' will be pointed at the door. Once you locate it..see if that same plug is present (or absent) on the PS.

my PS seat did the same thing. i found that nylon plug in the floor...but only after i replaced the gear assembly with a new one from dan. D'oh!!
bkgiii, if he finds the plug and puts it back in, will the seat work? just curious.

Mine 96 is the same since the day that I bought it. I've always thought it was a issue with the contacts since I can get it to move back after playing with the switch. I'm gonna check this weekend if the plug is off.

If it's the missing plug then sure it will work after the plug is screwed back in. This happened to my DS seat the other day!

Seems I saw a rogue plug laying on the RF floor a week or so ago..

Now if I can just remember where I stashed the damn thing....

Does it literally screw back in?

Yup. I had to remove the seat(4 bolts and a plug or two) to figure out where it went and to be able to have screwdriver access, but it was as simple as screwing it back in and bolting the seat back down.

hahaha, yep, i bet it's the plug!!

Mine popped out and my seat wouldn't move back. I ended up putting a piece of duct tape over the plug to keep it in. Worked so far.

Got it. Fortunately, I didn't have to remove the seat. I just used a flat blade tip from a variable tip screwdriver and turned it with a small cressent wrench. 5 minute job, all is fine now.

Thanks to all.
