New to the Cruisers

Hello group, I have been lurking for awhile, Great forum. The technical information through the search function has been great!
I bought my lx450 off ebay awhile ago, I have 106000 miles and only a couple of issues. The oil light seems very sensitve to oil level. My light was on at a single quart down. Second does anyone have any pics of the middle seat hinde mod? Last, has any one monitored the head gasket issue via used oil analysis?

Thanks
Dave

Mine is too.

Try author=ScottM or send him a PM. I think Paradise has also done this mod and maybe a few others. Watch their sig lines if you don't get any responses.

We've been trying to get a guinea pig to send in the gray sludge in the radiator for analysis. By the time there is coolant in the oil it is too late.

Would re-torqueing the head bolts help prevent it from happening? I read somewhere this problem on the Supras at least was a torqueing issue.

I have asked Robbie and others this question. The response was that "it might" but nobody has tried it that I know of. Getting to the head bolts on the 1FZ-FE requires removing the cams and by the time you're that deep in it, the general opinion is to replaced the HG.
